Shan Jiang won a silver medal for violin workmanship in Violin Society of America 16th international competition in Portland,Oregon in November 2004. There were 266 competitors from US and 18 other countries, including China, Canada, Italy, France, Japan, Germany, and others in the 16th VSA competition. 332 instruments were entered in the competition: 182 violins, 85 violas, 48 cellos, 3 basses and 14 additional violins entered as part of quartets.

There were totally 353 instruments entered in this competition, including 185 violins,96 violas, 48 cellos, 4 basses and 21 quartets.

In 1998, Shan Jiang’s two violins won the sixth and ninth positions in the 11th International Tchaikovsky Competition’s violin making division.He has won a silver medal for violin workmanship in the Violin Society of America (VSA) competition in 2004, and won a certificate of Merit for Violin Tone in the VSA competition in 2006,he won a silver medal for violin tone in Violin Society of America competition 2008, and won a certificate of Merit for viola tone in 2010.
